Marco Mazzoni | marcomazzoni - How To Survive The Apocalypse. Coloured pencils on paper, 55x45 cm (2011)
It’s funny, in life you dream about the guy you love, is he tall? Is he short? Funny? Sweet? The one thing you don’t dream about is that the guy you think will be your Mr. Perfect, the Mr. spend-the-rest-of-your-life-with loves another girl. You see it in TV shows and movies but you never think it will happen to you, until the day that he turns to you and says “I think I really love her”. It’s like a stake to the heart; it’s as if your entire life in that one moment just stops. You want to turn to him and say “No! I’m the one you love.” But all you can do is say “Congrats, I’m glad to hear that”. How do you tell him how you actually feel? Do you write him a letter? Or do you go on saying nothing and watch him go off with this other girl and just live their perfect life?

Tumblr Monday 46
Robert Knight (b.1973, USA) - Sleepless | Untitled (7 hours, 23 minutes, January 1, 2008)
Great thanks to artandopinion for this Monday to introduce us “Sleepless” by one of her favorite photographers Robert Knight. Through a series of photographs, layered audio recordings and video, Sleepless examines the contradiction between our expectations about sleep and its nocturnal actuality. [It] reveals a state of restlessness through the ethereal and translucent bodies which are captured during long-exposure nighttime shots. The resultant images are nighttime narratives—stories of our night’s sleep which suggest a contemporary sleep crisis in our society. (cf. Sleepless statement)
